Candace Twohig Knobloch – Founder and Board of Trustees
As the Founder of Create a Change Now, Candace Knobloch brings nearly 30 years of highly successful business development and management experience to this non-profit organization. After 15 years of experience in the airline industry, Candace took her career to another level when she co-founded one of Nevada’s largest Health Insurance Brokerages, Custom Benefit Consultants, Inc., (CBC). She took her agency nationwide with the development of the Costco Health Insurance Plans offered to individuals and business members. With her company’s strong emphasis on customer service, CBC was voted two years in a row as “Best Places to Work” by the Southern Nevada Association of Human Resources.
Her love of cooking inspired her to attend the Cordon Blue Cooking School in England and throughout the years she studied cooking with Jaques Pepin, Alice Waters, Martha Stewart, Flo Braker and many other renowned chefs. Her experience as a successful executive, business owner, wife and mom added with her caring heart and loving soul results in a perfect combination to run a non-profit that will give children of the next generation the education they need to make healthier choices.
Board of Directors
Scott Miller has been with State Restaurant Equipment Company since the age of 14. He has progressed through the company, performing each job function along the way, and in 2000 was awarded the title of President/CEO. State Restaurant Equipment Company is the largest supplier of restaurant supplies in Nevada, providing merchandise to all major casinos in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. The company has been recognized as one of the top ten suppliers to the gaming industry, and has received numerous industry awards over the years. Scott also serves on several industry boards including the Supply and Equipment Foodservice Alliance, the Foodservice Equipment Dealers Association and attended the Citizens Police Academy and graduated June 1998.
Michele Rothstein moved to Las Vegas after college to start a balloon business. Nineteen years later, Balloons With A Twist is one of the premier party planning companies in the valley. In 2010, she was a finalist for the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership award and was inducted into the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada “Women’s Hall of Fame.” The following year, Michele was selected as one of the elite group of business professionals for the “40 Under 40” title. Michele is not new to the world of non-profit. She has been a volunteer for the Make A Wish Foundation of Southern Nevada for 17 years. She’s also been involved with Opportunity Village, Aid For Aids Nevada, Foreclosed Upon Pets, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Vanessa is a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and Lifestyle Coach. She has nutrition certifications from Cornell University, SUNY Purchase, and the Wellness Forum Certified Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner. The Institute of Integrative Nutrition made her a Certified Holistic Health Coach, and she is accredited through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Throw in her Certification from the Yoga Alliance, and Vanessa is uniquely qualified to bring her signature Plantfire lifestyle to a public sorely in need of powerful, meaningful change. Vanessa is also a co-owner in Vasari… a fabulous Las Vegas clothing and shoe boutique located in the world-renowned Tivoli Village in Summerlin and is also a regular nutrition and fashion contributor for the radio show Charlotte’s Las Vegas on The Talk of Las Vegas KLAV AM 1230 and VegasAllNetRadio.com. Vanessa has completed her first soon to be released book entitled Plantfire: Not Just a Diet—Your Life’s Evolution. She lives in Las Vegas with her husband, Josh, and two daughters—Bianca, 11, and Bella 9.
Alan Livengood is the Director of Field Operations for Residential Field Services for Cox Communications, Las Vegas. Alan started his career in the Telecommunications industry with Prime Cable in 1992 and stayed until Cox bought the system in 1998. His hard work and dedication enabled him to quickly move from a frontline employee to several different leadership roles for over the past 24 years.
Alan, volunteers in support of Cox Charities and their partnership with United Way of Southern Nevada. For over 12 years, he’s been part of the Cox Charities Advisory Board and the Golf Tournament Committee that has raised over 1 million dollars to improve the quality of life for Southern Nevada’s children and families.
Alan enjoys spending time outdoors golfing and playing in softball leagues. He also enjoys going to the movies with friends and family to see big box office hits. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys going to football and baseball games. Alan and his wife have been to games in 18 of the 30 MLB ballparks and plan to visit the rest over the next few years.
Frank J. Stanbrough
Frank is Vice President/Risk Management and Compliance Officer at Southwest Gas Corporation. He is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Risk Management, Corporate Compliance, Business Continuity, and Enterprise Risk Management activities.
In his position, Frank is focused on the effective development, implementation, and administration of risk management and compliance programs designed to identify, assess, and prioritize various risks and to ensure that Company standards and Federal and State laws and regulations are met.
Frank joined Southwest Gas in 1994 as a Corporate Accountant II. He served in numerous accounting positions of increasing responsibility between 1994 and 2009. He was promoted to Director/Administration for the Southern Nevada Division in 2009 and Director/Corporate Human Resources in 2011. In 2013, Frank became Director/Risk Management and Compliance Officer and assumed his current position in 2015.
Frank holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. He is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Nevada) and a Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, Risk and Insurance Management Society, and the American Gas Association’s Risk Management Committee.
Sean Clancy is President and owner of Container Technology, Inc. CTI is an industry leading liquid packaging distribution and recycling company with two recycling locations on the West Coast and 5 other stocking locations throughout the United States. We specialize in the refurbishment and reuse of 55 gallon to 330g intermediate bulk containers. We also have a division of our company called; Tanks for Wine, Inc. in which we are the nations exclusive distributor of Flextank manufactured wine fermentation and maturation tanks. Container Technology just celebrated there 25 years in business anniversary last year.
Sean and his wife Gretchen moved to Las Vegas 6 years ago from Huntington Beach for work reasons. Sean brings many past years of experience fund raising for charities via extreme sporting activities/events he enjoys doing. Over the past 10 years Sean has kayaked from Huntington Beach 30 miles to Catalina Island 6 times, ran Long Beach 1/2 Marathon, and swam from Alcatraz Island back to mainland 2 times all in the name of raising money for charity. He is a also a 2 time Ironman Triathlon finisher and a 16 time full marathon finisher. Sean’s other passions include wine, boating, travel and offshore powerboat racing.
Angel is a bilingual community strategist with strengths in establishing and maintaining key partnerships with corporate decision makers. He is with the Live to Give Group and is enthusiastic about public speaking, works on special events, sales, marketing, promotion planning, and community-based campaigns in an organized and persuasive manner.
Council of Advisors
Tiffany grew up in Las Vegas and started volunteering in the community at young age. She has an unmatched passion for working with children, particularly those who have special and individualized needs. She graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Liberal Studies, concentration in Multicultural Studies and a minor in Psychology. While in school, she was employed by The Autism Group in San Diego doing RDI (relationship development intervention) for children with Autism. After graduation, she moved back to Las Vegas where she continued her work with children with special needs as an early childhood interventionist and behavior therapist at Southwest Autism & Behavioral Solutions. She then shifted her focus and began her philanthropy career while working as the Executive Director to establish the Las Vegas nonprofit Create A Change Now. Tiffany now holds the position of Vice President of Moonridge Group in Las Vegas. Moonridge Group philanthropy advisors helps funders, individual philanthropists and family foundations seeking to strengthen their philanthropic impact.
Carlos Espinosa is a marketing and media strategist with a proven track record of helping brands build a strong presence through integrated marketing campaigns. Born in Cali, Colombia and raised in New York City from the age of 4, he has a passion for and is closely connected with all things related to Latin American culture including food, music and family. Fully bi-lingual, Carlos is committed to making a positive impact on the Latin community and its stake holders. He contributes his time to numerous organizations that focus on the areas of Health & Wellness, Economic Development and the Latino Community. Carlos studied political science, economics and marketing at Fordham University in New York. His career spans over 18 years working with an array of leading Hispanic and General Market media companies. His passion for sales can be traced back to his work with companies such as Univision and Sinclair Broadcasting. He is currently the Director of Sales at Marketron Mobile Solutions providing mobile revenue platforms to the Broadcast industry.
Bill Knobloch graduated from Fordham University with a B.S. in History, attended Hofstra University Graduate School and graduated Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport Rhode Island. He is a retired Naval Officer and Pilot of a carrier squadron, where he did worldwide operational missions for various global hot spots including Cuba, Russia, North Pole and the Caribbean. He has spent 28 years as a Commercial Captain for PSA/USAirways and retired on the 757/767 while flying Internationally. Bill then started his political career and served 10 years on a community city council. His 3 term membership included deputy Mayor, County Council Member, Chair of Council Committees for Finance, Public Works, Utilities and Public Safety. He also represented the City of Bainbridge Island, WA at the county level council. Bill is a certified Parliamentarian and a Certified Mediator.
Melissa Blynn – Executive Director
Melissa Blynn has been the Executive Director of Create a Change Now since 2013. With her background in nutrition, fitness and mental health, she knows the importance of choosing a healthy lifestyle and implementing a balance between mind, body and spirit to support the overall well-being of each individual. Melissa has enjoyed dedicating her time to coaching children and families on nutrition education and physical fitness and recognizes the importance for education in prevention methods around health and wellness. Melissa has developed a natural leadership role in implementing health programs to the Clark County School District for the Las Vegas community. With her knowledge and passion, she leads our organization to having a positive impact on the health and wellness of the next generation and the future leaders of our city.

Vanessa Hess – Program Manager
Vanessa began her career as a health worker in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, where she implemented a health education program in rural villages. In the United States she has worked as an Education Coordinator for youth treatment facilities and homeless shelters where she dedicated herself to helping her students regain hope for their futures and identify their strengths and abilities. She has collaborated with her community in Indiana to install a 10,000 square foot school garden which flourished under the care of the children who worked on it. Through that experience, she learned about how healing a garden can be to children, families, neighborhoods and communities and is pleased to be able to bring her experience to Create a Change Now. Vanessa is passionate about improving the way we feed our children and is dedicated to making positive changes through education and advocacy. Vanessa is pleased to be joining the organization as the Program Manager.
Darya Ricotta – Volunteer Coordinator
Darya Ricotta is excited to join the Create A Change team as volunteer coordinator. She brings an outgoing personality and diverse skills learned during years of dancing professionally all over the world before landing here as a dancer for Siegfried & Roy. Following her dancing career she worked in management for a major retail store before taking on the role of a lifetime as wife and mother.
